In a statement issued by the university's management, students were warned against engaging in excessive celebrations, disruptive processions, cult displays, reckless driving, public disturbances, and any conduct capable of threatening lives or damaging university property.
The institution stressed that security agencies, university marshals, and other relevant authorities have been directed to enforce the regulations strictly throughout the convocation period.
Zero Tolerance for Cult Activities
UNICAL reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on cultism, warning that any student found participating in cult-related gatherings, displays, or activities would face severe disciplinary action in addition to possible prosecution under Nigerian law.
The management said intelligence reports had prompted the university to strengthen surveillance around the campus and adjoining communities to prevent any attempt by criminal groups to exploit the festive atmosphere surrounding graduation.
